By Rachel Gladstone-Gelman
(Excerpted from Tear Here)
Darkness pocked
with passages
Ripped
Intermittently longer
with cries from
children's night diaries
Chased, replaced
Cloaked, naked
Head of fire
from a spider
whose legs wave
with the uncertainty
beyond windows
Arms that cradle
Breasts that feed
Bodies that snuggle
away pain and fear
Sleepy fingers
weave image-sensitive
mesh over empty
wells and craters
left behind by
shaky dreams
